"We are Red Rabbit Cooperative Bakery, a worker cooperative that is equally owned and controlled by us, its workers. We believe in putting people before profits while striving to uphold the seven cooperative principles.
Our goal is to create superior vegan products that appeal to vegans and non-vegans alike. Through our food choices, we want to positively impact the earth and its inhabitants. We select our ingredients with care and consideration because we believe that the quality of all food should exceed the conventional standard.
For the last year, we have been working tirelessly to get our bakery off the ground. We spent six months developing our vegan donut recipe (we ate a lot of donuts!) and another six months finding a kitchen space, equipment, getting all the permits, licenses, suppliers, and clients we needed to start a wholesale bakery business. Finally after many months of hard work, late nights, and a lot of vegan donuts, our dream is slowly becoming a reality! And the best part: the good people of Austin love our handmade donuts!
The Plan.
Right now we are working out of a commissary kitchen and have started wholesaling to several local coffee shops and our local food coop as well as taking special orders!. Our goal is to expand our business and be able to make our vegan goodies available directly to the great people of Austin! We are looking to buy a food trailer or perhaps a kitchen space of our own in order to make this possible. We decided to start our business small, making yeast-raised vegan donuts in six awesome flavors, but we hope to quickly expand our product line to include other vegan breakfast goodies like cake donuts, cinnamon rolls, sticky buns, apple fritters, etc.
Where the money will go.
Austin is an amazing city with a really strong local economy, a very supportive network of local businesses and cooperatives, and lots of great resources for start-ups like ourselves. We couldn't have asked for a better place to try to make our dreams a reality! We hope you consider donating to our cause and appreciate your support!"
